Review drafts of regulatory documents, state and interstate standards on certification of products and services and prepare relevant proposals. Maintain confidentiality of incoming information.

To carry out the decisions, orders and instructions of the main state service "Turkmenstandartary" on ensuring radiological safety during the certification of the listed products brought to the territory of the country from abroad. Participate in the development of certification plans. Acceptance and consideration of applications for certification. Certification of products brought to Turkmenistan in accordance with the requirements of relevant regulatory documents.

On the basis of the received applications, to carry out analytical work in accordance with the requirements of regulatory documents at the location of the products, and to select samples for testing and submit them to an accredited (certified) testing laboratory. It carries out certification activities within its jurisdiction for goods brought to the territory of Turkmenistan from foreign countries. If there is no certified laboratory in the territory of Turkmenistan, the expert conducts certification work on the basis of inspection. "Turkmenstandartary" uses other rights of the state service in the certification of products. If the quality of the products to be certified does not meet the requirements of the regulatory documents, it issues mandatory instructions to correct them with specific deadlines, issues a document prohibiting the sale of the products, or makes a decision to return the products.
