The Justice of Turkmenistan took part in high-level events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in Geneva

On December 11-12, Adalatchy Yazdursun Gurbannazarova, the authorized representative for human rights in Turkmenistan, participated in the high-level "Human Rights 75" events in Geneva, Switzerland. The measures were organized by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, nCa website reported.


Also, the Turkmen delegation participated in a parallel event organized by the non-governmental organization "BDG" and the non-commercial organization "INHR", as well as the national human rights institutions of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.


Commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the high-level meeting brought together senior officials from international organizations, heads of delegations and national human rights institutions. At the opening of the conference, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk congratulated the participants on the milestone date of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.


The Justice of Turkmenistan, who participated in the event, informed the world community about the country's achievements and contribution to the development of human rights and the rule of law, as well as declared Turkmenistan's obligations in the framework of the "Human Rights 75" activities and in supporting the implementation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In particular, commitments such as development of international cooperation, strengthening of youth policy, development of environmental approaches to ensure human rights, elimination of statelessness in Turkmenistan were expressed.
